Vocational Education and training

Vocational Education and Training (VET) allows students to include a VET program within their senior secondary certificate. Students undertake nationally recognised training that contributes to their VCE/VM certificate.

Students can choose one of our internal BHS programs being:

  • Automotive
  • Business
  • Community Services
  • Music Performance
  • Sport and Recreation

or from the 23 VET programs offered through the Highlands LLEN VET Cluster which utilises external training providers to deliver the programs. There are a large variety of programs offered by the HLLEN VET Cluster including Allied Health, Building & Construction, Hairdressing and Animal Studies.

All VET programs are selected in the standard BHS subject selection process. External VET’s require an Expression of Interest form to be submitted on the HLLEN VET website at www.highlandsllen.org. HLLEN VET cluster programs will open for Expression of Interest on 1 Aug 2023 for senior students wishing to include a VET program in their 2024 timetable.
