Student Merit System

Gisborne Secondary College is thrilled to announce the new Merit System! From the commencement of this term, staff have been awarding students with merits associated with the College values of Respect, Achievement, Innovation and Diversity. The merit system is tiered into the following;

1. SELF: 1 Merit point

Awarded when a student demonstrates personal success 

2. PEER: 2 Merit points

Awarded when a student supports another student to accomplish success

3. TEAM: 3 Merit points

Awarded when a student leads a team of students to accomplish success

4. COLLEGE: 4 Merit points

Awarded when a student leads success at a college level.

The Students Leadership team and the newly appointed Student Representative Council will be engaging with all students to identify awards based on student interest. Our fist awards will be given out in the Year Level Assemblies at the end of this term. Watch this space!!
