Careers Corner

Mrs Glenda Lemon

The Careers section of the newsletter is the main source of information and communication on careers opportunities. Mrs Lemon will forward to each College newsletter, all university newsletters sent to her and any other material, for example early entry dates. It is important that you read this section, in order to find information that may be relevant to you.

On Monday 20th February, The College hosted The University Roadshow in the Library and UG11 for our year 11-12s. The universities represented were; Newcastle, New England, Southern Cross and Charles Sturt. The Future Student teams from each university outlined general aspects of university and then there was time for our students to speak with particular universities and ask questions. We thank the representatives for a fruitful session.

On Tuesday, March 14, the Uni of Newcastle's Department of Rural Health will be hosting a Health Careers Forum at the Tamworth Education Centre in Johnston St. The forum will include presentations and workshops for Medicine, Nutrition & Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Medical Radiation Science, Nursing, Speech Therapy and Mental Health & Social Work. If you are interested in attending, please see Mrs Lemon  by Thursday 2/3/23.

There are 2 sessions; a morning one from 9.10-11am and an afternoon one from 12/10-2.40pm so you will need to nominate your preference. The College has to register you, as you cannot just turn up. Students will have to make their own way there and back as it is not an official College excursion, hence if they attend, an email explaining their absence on the 14/3 will need to be sent to Reception.
