Mr Sullivan and Mr Edwards from our Beef section were out and about this week with visits to an Angus stud and a bull sale.

On Wednesday eight Year 11 students visited our neighbours at Sheron Farm to attend their Open Day and view the stud bulls they have prepared for sale in March.  The visit also provided the opportunity to catch up with Kaitlan Angi and ex-student of the College.

On Thursday they travelled to the Boyanup Sale Yards to attend the Black Rock Angus Stud bull sale with eight of our Year 10s.  Unfortunately, we were not able to secure a bull for the College beef herd at this sale.

The College plans to commence Cattle Club with Mrs Quilty next week to give interested students the chance to develop skills in preparing and showing cattle.  They will have the opportunity to show their skills at the Harvey Show in Term Two.

There is a large number of students showing an interest in Cattle Club this year.   We are still working on the logistics to cater for a bigger group.

I would just like to remind all students and parents of the requirement for students to wear a broad brimmed hat on Farm in Term One.  If a student presents at roll call in the morning with no hat they will need to purchase one before going to Farm for the day.
