Senior School News

Lots has been happening in the senior school over the last couple of weeks!

WESA Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to all our senior students that participated in the WESA Swimming Carnival against the other 8 schools in our district. The water was very inviting on a very hot day and our students should be proud of the points they earnt for our school in the 50 metre and leisure pools. Thank you to the many parents that attended and supported our team.

Camp

Excitement is spreading about our upcoming camp. Our senior camp will be held at Mount Evelyn Recreation Camp from May 1-3 this year.  A notice will be sent home this week regarding the camp. We require a parent from each of the four senior classes to attend.  Please indicate your interest on the notice and return it to the classroom teacher if you are available.

Interschool Sport

Students in Grades 4-6 participated in their first 'Gala Day' last Friday. Each sport played against 3 or 4 of the other schools in our WESA district. We will play a further 3 or 4 schools on March 24.

Kaboom Percussion Incursion

Students at Weeden had the opportunity to experience the wonderfully creative in-school performance from Kaboom Percussion. Nathan and Laura were not only very talented musicians but the tricks, humour, and presentation of their show was highly entertaining and thoroughly engaging. They related to the students at their level and demonstrated how easily music can be found around us everyday.

Students could not stop raving about Kaboom Percussion performance with many telling teachers that it was the best incursion they had ever experienced!

Family Fun Night

It was fabulous to see so many families attend our Family Fun Night. It was a great opportunity for our school community to come together and enjoy activities, mingling, foof and drink and the Kaboom Percussion show.
