ST ANNES LEARNING SUPPORT TEAM

At St Anne's Learning support is coordinated by the Learning Diversity leader ( Sally Thomas).

Learning Diversity encompasses the areas of Neurodiversity, Cultural Diversity, Chronic Health Conditions, Out - of - home - care.

The Learning Diversity Leader works collaboratively with Student Wellbeing Leader (Rikki Winduss) in preventative care for students.

The Learning Diversity Leader collaborates with Teaching and Learning and Curriculum Leaders ( Michael Sullivan and Toni Chiodo) to plan and implement individual programs for the neuro diverse children in our school.

Class teachers collaborate with leaders to write and implement Personalised Learning Plans ( PLP )/ Behaviour Plans/ Safety Plans/ Health Plans for children who require adjustments to access the curriculum and life at school.

Learning Support Officers (LSO) work with teachers and children to implement aspects of the individual plans.

St. Anne's has one LSO released from classrooms 4 days a week to work under direction of Learning Diversity and Literacy Leaders to implement Literacy support groups and 1 to 1 interventions.

For a small group of grade 1 children St Anne's offers the Reading Recovery program.

Collaboration with families is essential and Program Support Group (PSG) meetings are timetable each term to discuss the progress of Children who have plans in place to access the curriculum.

The Learning Diversity Leader coordinates and collaborates with all Allied Health

Specialists who come into the school to work with children.
