Principal's Report

Participation in Sub Committees

The beginning of the year is a great time to get involved in the school.  Our Council sub-committees are a great way to be involved in the school and I encourage you to consider this opportunity.

The school has four main working parties that parent/carers can be part of –

  1. Finance
  2. Community Engagement
  3. Buildings and Grounds
  4. Parents and Friends

The Parents and Friends team met last week and it was wonderful to hear about the new faces who attended.  We are looking to transition our Treasurer position, our current Treasurer, Warrick King, has already stayed on Council for an additional year after his youngest child moved to secondary school.  There is flexibility in how this transition can look.

We welcome queries about what any of the sub-committees may involve and remind everyone that no experience is required to be a part of any of them.

Building Project Update

Yesterday we received the unfortunate news that the contingency budget for our project is running out.  All current building projects have suffered exponential cost blow outs due to prices rises in the construction industry and had a contingency budget to attend to these, now these budgets are coming to an end.  The next step is to investigate the actual impact this will have on our project and determine action plans to address them.  Without knowing the details yet, our focus will be to ensure all the elements that we do not have the capacity to meet as a school are prioritised in the project.
