DID YOU KNOW?

By our German Captain, Tilly

  • The capital city of Germany, Berlin, is 9 times bigger than Paris and has more bridges than Venice
  • Munich is the second most punctual large airport in the world after Tokyo
  • Some of the world’s most famous inventions were created in Germany – the electric lightbulb, automated calculators, automobiles, insulin, petrol engines, jet engines, and the Walkman (to name a few!)

1854 - Heinrich Göbel, a German watchmaker, invented the first true lightbulb. He used a carbonized bamboo filament placed inside a glass bulb.
