Term 3 - Week 5 PE/Sport

Save The Date; Swimming is back in the final 4 weeks of Term 3; 25th Aug - 16th Sept

This year we are fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the Richmond Rec to conduct our swimming program. Each class will walk to the pool with their class teacher and 1 parent helper. They will have qualified swim instructors for 30mins (Yr 3-6) or 40mins (Yr P-2) instruction. The cost of the Swimming Program has been included in this year’s school fees. Please ensure your child has their swimming requirements clearly labelled with their name. Class teachers will be sending out permission letters very soon with exact dates. Each class will be walking to the pool and need a parent helper for each session otherwise the program cannot go ahead. It will make the sessions easier if your child can wear their bathers underneath their uniform on the way there. Please read the letters carefully and volunteer for a session if you can. If you have any questions please feel free to see me.

What does each child need to bring?

Small bag to take to swimming with the following;

Bathers - 1 piece

Towel

Plastic bag for wet clothes

Goggles and Swim hat  - optional

Division Netball and Soccer

Mrs Maryanne and I had the pleasure of taking the Soccer and the Netball teams to the next round of their Inter School competition. The soccer team played 4 long games in cold conditions and worked hard against a tough opposition. The Netball team had 3 games at the Macleod Netball centre and did a fantastic job. All players had a great experience, even though we didn’t have too much success they had fun and enjoyed representing their school.

Well done everyone.

FIT CLUB

Thursday 7.45-8.30am

Fit club is open to all students who want to get more activity into their week and come along and have some fun with their friends. Just come along before school on Thursday and join us in the playground. We will have students from St Kevin’s who are completing their community service to help us.

Dr CRANKY’S BIKE HOSPITAL

Friday 8.15am

Our school recycling program will be back up and running in week 5 this term. We help to provide a service where we can help complete minor repairs on your bike and also donate second hand bikes to our students who need them. We have a number of bikes for 5-9yr olds that need a home and are ready for a new owner. So if you are interested please come and see us next to the church before school on Fridays. We are also looking for new volunteers - so if there are any parents/carers who have an interest in helping out please come and see us.
