Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

We had a really wonderful start to the week on Monday following our usual Monday morning gathering.  We all joined together in the MPR for a special Mary Makillop Liturgy led by our Year 3/4 students. Apart from learning a little more about Australia's first and only saint and sharing some special prayers and a song we were able to see how capable our middle school students are as well as our seniors. Congratulations to all the children who read so beautifully and showed such great support of each other which is clearly why our children seem to be so confident when presenting to an audience. Thanks again to Mrs Antonella and our class teachers in preparing this liturgy and our children.

School Concert

Rehearsals are certainly heating up and dance moves coming along nicely. There is a sense of excitement in the air as children and teachers from all classes work together in preparing for our concert, 'Offline and On Stage.'  A reminder to check the letter attached below for information regarding date, times and venue.

Please also see the information below outlining costume requirements for each class. Scroll through to find your child's class letter.  I have also included a note with photos which will also help.

Concert Tickets can be purchased online HERE

Coffee/Tea & Chat

Thank you to all those parents who were able to stay back after our assembly on Monday for a Coffee/Tea and chat. With over twenty parents gathering together it was a really great way to start the week and to once again have the opportunity for parents to get to know each other and school staff a little more. I really do look forward to our school getting back to what we know is really important for our community which is the connection we can have with each other both professionally and socially.

Netball

Congratulations to our senior netball team who recently competed in the Division Netball competition. We are always so proud of, not just their ability when competing against other schools but, the great sportsmanship they always show when representing Trinity. Thanks Mrs McLeary for all the work you do in preparing our children and in organizing these important opportunities.  Who knows, our recent success winning the netball gold medal at the Commonwealth Games may inspire one of our children to dream of one day representing Australia in the sport of their dreams.

Congratulations to the Diamonds

Prayer:   St Mary Makillop

Creator God, We thank you for the life and canonisation of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. She taught us that you understand us better than we understand ourselves. May we trust as Mary did, being mindful of your loving presence in all we do. Living today with Mary’s words, leaning on you and trusting in your providence.
Amen.

Child Safety & Wellbeing

On Monday this week all students in years 3-6 began a trial using a Wellbeing Tracking tool called RIPPLE.  Every child checks in each morning to rate how they are feeling in each of 9 seperate areas including, Friendships, Concentration, Safety etc. We believe this data will provide us with even more insight into how we can best address the wellbeing needs of all our children.

Writing

Who doesn't love to read or listen to a good story? No doubt all of us have a favourite story from childhood we can recall. A favourite book or nursey rhyme we read at home or at school. At Trinity we hope to inspire each child to become a writer, able to share their thoughts, explore their imagination and perhaps one day have their writing published for all to read. That day may come sooner than we think for some of our students here at Trinity.  This year for the first time Trinity Primary School has been invited to participate in, Shared stories.

Shared Stories is an annual anthology of creative works by primary and secondary students from Catholic schools across Victoria. The anthology commenced in 2006 with funding from the Felton Bequest. The concept was imagined in response to the Cronulla riots in Sydney, which challenged us as educators to explore positive and affirming ways of sharing experiences and ideas across cultural and social groups throughout Victoria.

All of our children will be writing, drawing and responding to this year's theme, 'Imagine if' and some children's work will be selected for publication.

Pen Pals Excursion

Ms Marinelli's Senior Pen Pal club has also been very lucky to be accepted to attend an excursion to this year's writer's festival at the State Library on Friday 1st September.  This promises to be an exciting and inspiring opportunity and another great experience for our children at Trinity. Thanks Ms Marinelli.
