Liturgies in stage groups will start again next week with the stage 5 and 6 liturgy in week 4.  Parents in K-6 invitations to attend will be sent closer to the actual liturgy.

Our Father’s Day liturgy is on September 1 at approximately 8.45 am in the Marketplace at St Luke’s.  Parents and particularly Father’s and Father figure’s are invited to attend.

Social Outreach

Our Vinnies groups are growing!

With over 140 student members from across the school, we know St. Luke’s is in good hands! This term our Vinnies groups have met with the representative from the St. Vincent De Paul Society to receive a welcome and introduction to the group. We look forward to being more involved within our school community and shortly in our local community.

Starting soon we will have our senior students group making sandwiches for the Vinnies Van in Parramatta.

Stay tuned for more updates!

School of Leadership

Stage 3:

In this Stage 3 Learning Cycle, students will explore how we can use the gift of wisdom to seek the truth and make good decisions. To begin, students identified what guides and influences our decisions through defining terms such as discernment and virtues. Students consolidated their knowledge through participating in activities that have allowed the application of these terms and to reflect on times where they have used discernment or virtues to guide them in their lives. Students have also begun to explore where examples of these terms are present in Scripture. Moving forward, students will explore the concept of philosophy, wisdom and truth, as well as the decisions and influences of Jesus and other spiritual and social people in order to develop a personal philosophy for living a life that aligns with God’s commandments and inspires others to do the same.

Year 7

In this Stage 4 Learning Cycle, students will explore ways to find how God is revealed in our world. Students will initially look at ways to articulate how God’s presence has been revealed throughout the ages, then understand the mystery of God in the Trinity in order to experience Him through prayer and real life events. They will complete the benchmarks in response to the driving question: “How can we relate to the persons of the Holy Trinity?”

Year 8

In this learning cycle, Year 8 students will explore how sacramentality can be achieved by understanding the relationship between God & creation. They will explore the work of artists, musicians and scientists of faith so that they understand the relationship between God & Creation through prayer, and scripture passage in order to articulate their life of sacramentality  through their action plan.

School of Entrepreneurs

Year 9

In term 3 Year 9 students will be attempting to respond to the driving question “How can my faith help me to navigate life so I can fulfill my purpose?”   Students in year 9 wonder about the purpose and value of religion in modern life. nStudents will first critically look at different instances where religion is a force for good or evil in the world. Then, after investigating the purpose of religion, students will determine how religion can assist them to fulfill their purpose in life.

Year 10

In term 3 Year 10 students will be trying to respond to the driving question: “What does Holiness look like in my life?”  Students in year 10 will look at the relevance of service in the 'Universal Call to Holiness'.  In this learning cycle of work students will learn about the significance of contemplation on discernment, conscience and the role of the Holy Spirit.  Students will discern their own vocation and call to holiness to gain an insight into Human Flourishing.
