While this is a significant event on the Senior School calendar, Year 9 students are invited to the David Perry Hall during period 1 to view the Subject Expo. Teachers will be available to discuss their subjects and study pathways through Year 11 and Year 12. Parents are welcome to attend too.
VET in 2023
In Year 10, students have the option of including a VET subject (Vocational Education and Training) as part of their overall school program. Most VET courses are delivered on a Wednesday afternoon at TAFE or a secondary school training provider. If this is something you want to know more about you should:
- Go to the Doncaster Secondary College Careers Website and read up about VET as well as reading the information in the Year 10 Handbook
- Complete a ‘VET Expression of Interest form’ and return to Senior School
- Consider completing Work Experience (if over 15) particularly if you are interested in trade areas.
For any questions, MS Team message or see Ms Winterburn or Mrs Ramsay in the Senior School Careers Office.
*NOTE: the ‘VET Expression of Interest form' will be available at the Careers Office from week 3 of term 3 and must be returned by August 10.

Wellbeing in Middle School
THE BODY PROJECT
Promoting positive body image.
The DSC Wellbeing Team is partnering with headspace and Manningham Youth Services to deliver a program for students in Years 9 and 10 to promote positive body image. The program consists of 4 sessions that will be fun and interactive and focus on skill development and confidence building for students. There will be an opportunity for students to develop leadership skills and participate in a student led committee to look at how to promote positive image across the school community.
If you believe this will be of benefit for your child, please contact Caitlin Wilks (Caitlin.Wilks@education.vic.gov.au) to discuss any questions or queries and register your child for the program. The program commences in Week 4.
FRIENDLY REMINDERS FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL RECEPTION...
- Uniform - students must bring a dated note if they are out of uniform and this should be taken to the Middle School School office to be exchanged for a uniform pass before 9am! Students will not get a pass for a hoodie or leggings. These must not be worn at school.
- Students can not use their phones to purchase items from the canteen. You can only pay in cash or with a debit/credit card.
- Students can get free food from the sub-school offices, however they must be mindful of not wasting this food, please speak to your child about littering and not taking beyond their needs.
