Positive Behaviour Support is here!

Belmore School is implementing the Positive Behaviour Support framework to assist students with learning socially acceptable ways to behave and interact with others across all school environments.

So, what is this framework?

Positive Behaviour Support (or School-wide PBS) is a framework that brings together school communities to develop positive, safe, supportive learning cultures.

By using a proactive approach to managing student behaviours and a whole school commitment we can help to reduce any behaviours of concern.

How Do We Start?

All school staff have had an initial induction to the framework and as a whole school community we need to decide on our schools’ 3 or 4 positive expected behaviours from which all other behaviours can be addressed.

The aim is to survey staff, families, and students to decide which positive expected behaviours are the most important to our school. Once we have our expected positive behaviours, we can start to promote these through strong visuals, constant modelling, and explicit teaching. A survey link and hard copy will be sent home to families via a BSC email next week with the opportunity to select your top 5 choices in order of importance (1 being the most important).

Please return to school or reply to the online survey as soon as possible and we can get started.

Semester 1 Student Reports

I have had the privilege of reading each student's semester 1 report over the last 2 weeks. All reports were a pleasure to read and highlighted our return to regular teaching and learning programs. The incredible achievements of each of our students have been highlighted and their learning growth recognised.  Reports will now be sent home on Monday 1 August with the online booking information for the mid-year SSG meetings which will now be held between Wednesday 3 and Thursday 11 August.
