We can reflect on our learning

Term 2

Term 2 was a busy and exciting term for the Reception classes.

Some of the exciting extra curricular activities we enjoyed during the term included the disco, Auskick clinic,  Showdown donuts, Tee-Ball clinics, celebrating National Reconciliation Week and Crazy Hair Day.

Our Health inquiry about how we can keep our minds and bodies healthy and safe gave us plenty of opportunities for discussions. We talked about healthy foods to eat, drinking lots of water and making sure we get enough sleep and exercise. We discussed how we can be the very best versions of ourselves and created some fantastic books about ourselves.

We continued to gain confidence by performing a number of songs and sharing our learning at both the Early Years and Whole School Assemblies.

We visited the kindy and it was great to catch up with the teachers to show them how everyone has changed and matured. A highlight of the visit was being able to hold some baby chicks who had just hatched at the kindy.

The final Friday of Term 2 coincided with our Reception children's 100th day of school. It was fantastic to see so many children dressed  up in their pyjamas for a special celebration. We made cup towers with 100 cups, enjoyed games and activities based around the number "100" , made fairy bread with 100's and 1000's and created paper chains out of 100 pieces of paper.  Thanks to the parents who were able to support us by helping on the day.

We look forward to a successful term 3 and 4.
