School Wide Positive Behaviour
In 2017 we are introducing School Wide Positive Behaviour.
I strongly believe in prevention and proactive steps to enable students to succeed and achieve. That in the classroom and playground all students experience the same language when managing behaviour from all staff and that students are equipped with the skills and strategies to deal with situations appropriately and manage their own behaviour through using appropriate strategies.
School Wide Positive Behaviour Support. SWPBS is a structured and long term framework that facilitates positive behaviours in schools.
Supportive classrooms
Strong and positive relationships with parents and the community
Celebration of positive behaviour
Consistent language by all staff
Weekly expectation lessons
Visual material around the school
Appropriate environmental adjustments
Consistent and fair management of inappropriate behaviour
Programs to support social emotional development
Celebration of diversity and recognition that everyone has skills and strengths to contribute,
Differentiates and meet the needs of students not only academically but behaviourally and social emotionally
Students engage in a variety of learning opportunities to assist with the consolidation of the expectation and their individual needs through weekly lessons. These lessons are aimed at teaching students specific social and life skills to assist students’ success at school socially and academically.
House Swimming
The house swimming carnival for 2017 was a great success. Most if not all of the students had an opportunity to swim or race and the weather was brilliant. Thank you to our parent helpers and swimmers, Kristen, Amanda, Trish, Naomi, Cathy and Jo. Parents are so important to these events and we appreciate all the help and support.
