Year 10
Year 10 News
We have begun preparations for an extended Easter holiday break. All Year 10 students have been provided with the digital tools to continue with their learning, should the need arise. Students have been asked to download the Microsoft Teams and One Note applications to their laptops or iPads. This will enable them to continue with their learning if the school is closed for an extended period. Staff are preparing curriculum to be delivered digitally which students will be able to access from home.
We will continue to prepare the students for their transition to Year 11. The students have been asked to take their Careers Pathway booklet home with them. I will also provide a digital copy of the booklet which all Year 10 students can access via One Note. This will enable them to work on their careers research and planning as well as their subject selections for next year. The Homeroom teachers and I will be available via email to communicate with the students should they have any questions.
As this unprecedented situation continues to develop, we will do our best to keep you and your sons informed. We expect all students to continue with their learning. Classes for Term 2 will begin on Wednesday, April 15. If the school remains closed, I expect all Year 10s to continue with their learning from home. They will be able to access the curriculum and lessons via the digital platforms already mentioned. I expect them to demonstrate the capacity to work independently and complete the assigned work. Their teachers will be accessible via email. They will still have assessments to complete and submit. We will adapt to this situation as best we can.
Driver Learning Education Program
The Year 10 Applied Mathematics class had the opportunity to participate in the Driver Learning Education Program. The program included career presentations featuring representatives from the technical areas of motorsport and the local motorsport industry, and RMIT University exhibitors showcasing their local innovations and capabilities which included interactive displays. The students were able to participate in workshops where they could get hands-on experience with advancing technologies. It was an enjoyable learning experience for the boys.
