Allegria Strings on tour

Last long weekend, Allegria Strings hit the road to Goondiwindi and St George with Dr Cousins, Mrs Searle, Mrs Gordon, and Mrs Lockyer. We travelled out West in the minibus for four nights of great music and connecting with local Clayfield families. It was a fun few days of catching upwith current students, Old Collegians, and prospective students, as well as an opportunity for Allegria to showcase our hard work and bond as a group. I would like to thank Abi Carr, Dimity Whitaker, Bella Harris, Tiffany Lee, and Do Hee Lee for their dedication to strings at the College, and for creating a great weekend.

The main highlights were:

  • Performing at the Aspects Art Show at the Goondiwindi Showgrounds on Thursday night
  • Spending Friday at the Goondiwindi show with a few performances throughout the day.
  • Performing at The Queenslander Hotel, Goondiwindi, for the family dinner on Friday night with current and future Clayfield families
  • Attending the St George family dinner at The Australian Hotel on Saturday night
  • And finally, performing on our makeshift stage at the St George show, interspersed with activities such as sheep shearing, a pet show, watching the horses, and eating an inhuman quantity of fairy floss.

Thank you so much to Dr Cousins, Mrs Searle, the marketing team, and the music staff for the performance opportunities and exciting new experiences. Music is never boring at Clayfield College!
