Courage at Kildare College

At Kildare, Courage is not just a word but a Core Value that lies at the heart of everything we do.

The Opening College Mass was a powerful reminder of this, calling upon us to recognise our place in the world and to be bold enough to ask for what we need. With the unwavering support of Jesus, we are empowered to take risks and strive for excellence, both personally and as a community. This message was echoed by the inspiring words of Peter Houlahan, Renee Oberin, Kathy McEvoy, Jo Coonan, and Fr Mathew, who joined us in our commitment to serve our students and help them reach their full potential.

Our Living Justice | Living Peace Group took action to support those in need, raising funds for Caritas Australia to provide crucial aid to those affected by the earthquake in Turkiye and Syria. The outpouring of support from our generous community was truly heartening, with families making donations, students purchasing bubble tea, and everyone coming together to make a difference. Throughout the week, prayers and well wishes written by students were displayed, showing our compassion and care for those impacted by this disaster.

On International Women's Day, Kildare was proud to support our local event at the City of Tea Tree Gully Library. Adelaide-based singer-songwriter and businesswoman Amity Dry, highlighted important topics about women's ongoing drive for equality, reflecting the 2023 theme #EmbraceEquity. Our students also valued connecting with the community including the Mayor of Tea Tree Gully, Marijka Ryan. Our students wore purple accessories, wrote affirmations, and gifted affirmations to staff members to honour the inspiring women who have come before us and to inspire the next generation of women. We remain committed to pushing boundaries, breaking down barriers, and blazing new trails towards a world where every girl and woman can thrive.

Courage is not just a value, but a way of life at Kildare. It inspires us to build positive relationships, take risks, and genuinely care for each other. As we begin this new year, we are reminded of our infinite potential and the amazing things we can achieve when we have the courage to pursue our dreams.
