Welcome back to all our wonderful families. I hope you all had a happy and restful break and enjoyed the blessings of the Easter season.
Term Two is already shaping into another busy term with lots of fun activities and valuable learning experiences for the students.
We started this term with a special ANZAC Day liturgy. Students gathered together in the hall to pray and pay their respects to all those who fought in wars to ensure our freedom. Students were exceptionally prayful and respectful, especially when reciting the Ode and adhering to one minutes silence.
Mrs Stutterd and our 2 school captains attended the Chelsea RSL ANZAC Day service and laid a wreath on behalf of our St Louis' Community. We are very grateful to them for respresenting our school on this special occasion
Together we prayed:
God of comfort, God of peace,
We place our wreath at the foot of the cross on which Jesus laid down his life, so that we may remember all those ANZACs and other soldiers who laid down their lives for the protection, wellbeing and freedom of others. We remember especially those men and women from our local area, and those relatives known to us.
May the loss of their lives and the many injuries received - stir us to always work for peace – in our families, in our school and in our world. Amen.
God of Love, God of Peace, in this season of Easter we rejoice in the New Life your Son the Risen Jesus gives us.
You offer us hope. You offer us peace. We thank you for these treasured lands of ours, Australia and New Zealand. Amen
God of Help, God of Peace, as we remember the ANZAC soldiers who fought to protect our countries, help us to strive for peace in all we do.
May we learn from the suffering of the past
And aspire to live by the values of Your son Jesus;
The values of love, compassion, peace and forgiveness,
That lead us all to true freedom. We ask this through Jesus who shows us the way of peace.
All: Amen.
On Friday we celebrated the feast of our patron Saint, St Louis de Montfort. St Louis' became a priest and spread the Word of God everywhere that he went. He taught people to love and pray to Mary the mother of Jesus. He lived his life to show God’s love to all people and encourages us today and each day to do the same.
As a St Louis' community, let us be proud and strive to continue his mission in the world by supporting those in need and sharing with others his devotion to Mary.
