Here I introduce 2 more of our School Council members:

Sonia Schinck, School Council staff, Foundation teacher. I think Sonia brings something special to Council as a teacher and a parent of the school.

 •    Started MPS in 2003

•    Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) / Bachelor of Arts (Sociology)

•    Married with 2 children. My son still attends MPS

•    Loves travelling and still have a number of destinations on her bucket list

•    Passionate Sydney Swans supporter

•     And loves here two dogs, Lenny and Frankie.

I find my role at MPS extremely rewarding and I am very focused on assisting students to reach their full potential. My teaching philosophy centres around creating an inclusive educational environment whilst simultaneously promoting the skills necessary for students to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Building positive relationships with students is really important to me and I am very grateful to come to school each day to help students learn. I have enjoyed my involvement on School Council over the last year whilst participating in meetings that assist in the efficient governance of the school. It has been very positive to participate in decisions affecting students that enhance educational opportunities.

Garrick Atkin is in his 2nd year of being on school council and holds the position of Vice President.  I have 2 kids at Malvern Primary School (grade 2 and prep 2023) so we will be here until 2029!  Professionally, I am an organisational psychologist and work with businesses, schools and universities to create great places for people to work and positive environments for students to learn.  I think that schools are at the heart of our community.  Recently, I was lucky enough to supervise School Principals across Victoria as part of a Wellbeing strategy and over 2 years I learned a lot about the important role of  school council. See you at school!
