Bus Travel

Bus travel is an important and, in some cases, necessary form of transport to and from school for many students and their families. At St Virgil’s College we believe that all students should be able to travel on buses safely and confidently. We also expect the reputation of our College to be enhanced in public by the positive behaviour of our students. All boys are therefore required to abide by the Bus and Transport Code of Conduct. I encourage parents and guardians to ensure they are familiar with this Code of Conduct which can be located in the Student Handbook. Students whose behaviour represents a threat to the safety of other travellers may lose their right to travel on the bus. St Virgil’s will continue to encourage safe and sensible bus travel and will continue to work closely with the bus companies which provide services for our students in monitoring student behaviour and implementing this Code of Conduct.

Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences

Parent Student Teacher Conferences will take place on Day 1 next Term, Monday 24th April. Requests for Parent Student Teacher Conferences were sent home via PAM earlier in the week. If a teacher requests a meeting I highly encourage you to attend and bring your son to the conference. It is well known that strong relationships between parents and teachers encourage positive student outcomes. The purpose of these conferences is to support student growth academically and socially. It is important they are a part of this process and engage with the feedback provided as they strive to achieve their personal academic best. If you are unable to attend on the day please make contact with the teacher via email or phone. They may be able to arrange an alternative time to meet or discuss their reasons for requesting the meeting with you. Likewise, if you would like to request an interview to discuss your son’s progress please do not hesitate to do so.

I wish all students a restful and safe Term break and look forward to welcoming them back next Term.
