Principal's Note
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to our first newsletter for Term 2. The countdown is now on for the completion of our grade 5 and 6 campus. We are still awaiting confirmation of the completion date, but we are quietly confident that we will be moving in sometime during Term 3. Some of our school captains were able to have a tour of the building last week and the feedback was very positive.
The Colour Run at the end of term one was a huge success. We raised just over $20,000. The School Council will be discussing at our next meeting how we will allocate our fundraised money for 2023. Thank you to the students who chose to donate their prizes to Djirra. We know that their donation will make a difference to many families at Christmas time.
At our fortnightly assemblies, it has been a privilege to recognise and celebrate students (and staff) who model our values of Gratitude, Critical and Creative Thinking, Kindness and Empathy and Inclusiveness. I love when students share with me their achievements, show how they are already changing the world through initiatives they introduce in our school setting, use their 'voice' to make change and simply show their enjoyment with what they are learning with their teachers. Our values are integral to our school culture and I encourage you to discuss them with your children at home.
A reminder that enrolments for Foundation 2024 are now open, and I encourage you to enrol any siblings as soon as possible. All enrolments for Foundation 2024 must be submitted by Friday 28th July. Enrolment forms can be downloaded from Compass or collected from the school office.
Thank you
Megan
