POLDING SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Last week we had 10 children travel to Sydney to compete in the Armidale Diocesan swim squad at the Polding Carnival at SOPAC. The children competed against children from other Catholic schools from across the northern half of the state, so the competition was very tough. The team managers noted the commendable sportsmanship of the children on the day. Below are the results for our swimmers.

ST NICHOLAS CROSS COUNTRY

The school cross country will be held on Friday 30th of April at Powerhouse Park. Students will walk to and from the park. Parents are welcome to come and watch. A timetable of the day will be included in the newsletter in the coming weeks.

DIOCESAN CROSS COUNTRY

The Diocesan Cross Country will be held in Barraba on Friday 7th May 2021. The children will be given the opportunity to catch the bus to Barraba.

REPRESENTATIVE HONOURS

Often I get emails from parents sharing successes that children have had in their chosen sports outside of school. Due to the fact that there are so many different sports and so many children competing in these it is difficult to publish these successes for fear of missing out on acknowledging a sport or an achievement. I do love hearing about these though and try to speak to the children individually about this. I especially love hearing the sportsmanship stories

Touch Football

Touch Football will have a break over the holiday period and resume on MONDAY 26TH APRIL 2021. Parents, if you are ever in doubt as to whether the game is on or cancelled due to inclement weather or closed fields, please check the Tamworth Touch Association Facebook page. This page will have the most up to date information for the day.  Thankyou for your understanding with this matter.

POLDING WINTER TRIALS

On Friday 23rd April we have 16 children travelling to Bathurst to try out for the Polding teams in Netball, Rugby League, Hockey and Soccer. Good luck to the following children

DIOCESAN TOUCH TRIALS

Notes were given out this week to children who play touch football in Year 5 and 6 to nominate for the Diocesan Touch Trials in Tamworth on Friday 26th March 2021. These trials will now be on Thursday 1st April  due to the rain last week. Good luck to Callum Anderson, Kobi Hamlin, Tom Holland, Angus Davidson, Thomas Gillies, Cooper Jones and Jamie McGregor.

NETBALL

Dear Netball Families,

All uniforms have been given out, all coach packs have been given out and all team gear bags have been handed out. Your coaches should be getting in touch with you before the end of the holidays.

Please note that due to some of our teams (especially in Year 4 & 5) being low in numbers, your child may be invited to play up to help out. Of course you can say no, but I urge you to consider to help out these teams. Usually one coach will contact the other coach and you will be asked in advance.

Netball begins on Saturday 24th April 2021 at the Dome. Please keep an eye out for court allocations. We will also be given one or two duties to help out. I'll inform you of them as I'm advised of times and dates.

All the best for the coming Easter break!
