Our 2019 Library Bookmarks

Announcing the NHS 2019 Library Bookmark Challenge winners

The annual NHS Library Bookmark Challenge was held during March.  The Arts Committee set a similar brief to last year “design bookmarks inspired by literature” to be our official library bookmarks for 2019.   The aim was to promote the library and literature as well as showcasing our student’s artistic flair.

Congratulations to the five finalists of the 2019 library bookmark challenge.

Ellie Choemuku-Huang Y7Bookshelf with popular YA titles and quotes
Perry CrottyY7Will from the book His Dark Materials
Zoe Everett-Majewski Y9The Secret Garden
Amy Stokes Y9A Fantasy World of books
Izabela Prvcic & Isabella BiniY11 Tree with inspirational quotes from well known YA novels

We received a broad range of submissions with our students demonstrating a high level of creativity and artistic skill, making it very difficult for the panel to choose the five finalists.   The winning entrants used a mix of techniques including digital design, hand drawn pencil, ink, texta and crayon.

There are many people to thank for their substantial contribution to make this challenge a success.

  1. The Arts Committee lead by Ms Stewart
  2. Ms Sirec for her graphic design expertise and the time and effort she spent preparing the artwork proofs for the Printer
  3. The Judges – Sue Harrap, Connie Stewart, Peta Sirec, and Jenny Tripp

A special thanks goes to all the students who submitted entries.

Please return your books

Please return books as soon as you have finished reading them so that others can share your love of reading.

When a book is two weeks or more overdue, you will be notified via your NHS school email.

You can renew your books through the Library website by choosing the SSO (Single Sign On button) and your Compass sign in, or at the library desk.  If you have misplaced or lost a book please come and speak with a friendly library staff member.

Invoices for 2018 overdues will be forwarded in Week 1, Term 2.

We have extended return dates for books borrowed this week to 29 April - so make sure to come and borrow something to read over the holidays!

Have a great break!
