Great effort from Chess team

Chess Tournament at the Australian International Academy

The Northcote High School Chess team travelled to the Australian International Academy for the Chess Tournament run by Chess Kids Victoria.  The Northcote Team was third placed in the tournament to Candlebark College A and B team.

The tournament consisted of 7 rounds. In the middle years division, Lewis Tan (Chess Team Captain) won 7 out of 7 games, received a High Distinction, and won the medal for best player.  

Hugo Waples, Angus Boyd, Alex Carberry, and Jeffrey Ng all won 4 games and received a credit rating.

Overall a great effort by the team and they are looking forward to the next tournament.
