A.N.Z.A.C. School Service

(Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.)

On Wednesday, 21 April, White Gum Valley Primary School commemorated A.N.Z.A.C. Day with a school service.  The year six students participated in a march and service organized by the R.S.L. Cockburn held in Spearwood.

Meanwhile back at White Gum Valley Primary School, a solemn service was presented by the year three students from rooms eight and nine. The school choir sang a beautiful song called, In Flanders Fields.  A former student, Gino from Fremantle College, played the bugle for the Last Post and Requiem.

The A.N.Z.A.C. Service commemorates the landing at what was to become known as A.N.Z.A.C. Cove in Turkey on 25 April, 1915.  During the eight months at A.N.Z.A.C. Cove 35,000 soldiers arrived of which 10,000 died and 23,000 were wounded. We honour those who sacrificed their lives for their country.

We will remember them…

Colour Fun Run

On the last day of Term 1, White Gum Valley PS students braved the heat and participated in our yearly Colour Run/Lapathon. Students enthusiastically completed many laps around our school oval and got covered in colourful powder. Students received donations and sponsorships from family and friends to contribute to and raise money for the school's upcoming Aboriginal Projects and 120th Year Anniversary celebrations. Well done to everyone! Classes from PP - Year 3 and Yr 4 - 6 who raise the most, will be rewarded with a pizza lunch in a few weeks time. Many thanks to all teachers and parents who also took part in the event!

Brownes Dairy

On Tuesday, 20 April, our school was fortunate enough to have Brownes Dairy visit Rooms 1, 2, 3 and 8. Our other classes will enjoy a visit either  5 or 6 of May.

The incursion was organised as part of our Moneysmart grant and has/will give our students the opportunity to learn in a hands-on way how a dairy operates and produces products; which is part of the WA Curriculum.  It will also assist individual classes develop their own enterprise project over Semester 2, which will be marketed on our School Market Place Day planned for Friday,  25 June, 2021

Attendance Matters

Many thanks to the parents who inform the school of student absences.

This can be done in a number of ways

It is important that we are made aware of a reason for absence as our records are official to the department.
