Mother's Day at The King's College

Mother's Day Assembly and Morning Tea

"A Mother's Smile" was the theme for our Assembly performance, which featured touching poems and songs, lively video interviews of students describing their mums' smiles, as well as a heartfelt prayer honouring all mums by the principal, Mr Ian Elder. One of the highlights was the special slideshow - an array of beautiful smiles of our College mums played to Pastor Michael Battersby’s soulful rendition of Billy Joel's " Just The Way You Are".  We hope this tribute sings of our appreciation to you and made your heart smile.

Students served our guests a delightful morning tea led by Pastor Linda Battersby. It was accompanied by live music, which covered a classical and jazz repertoire performed by our music students. There were many photo opportunities to capture more smiles with a lovely floral photo booth. Every mum was blessed with a gift from the College as the event drew to a close.

Students involved in the Creative Club and VET Music course put in many hours towards the production, but nothing compares to the countless moments of love in action our mums have given of themselves to us. Thank you for all you have done and all you do for us. We love and honour you more than words can say.

Mother's Day Pamper Afternoon

On May 4 and 7, our Kindergarten classes held their Mother's Day Pamper Afternoon. The children enjoyed spoiling their mum's by painting their nails, doing their hair, giving them hand massages, helping them relax with cucumbers on their eyes (just to name a few of the activities!) and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea together. They also gave out Mother's Day gifts made in class and sang them a song. It was a very special time!
