Be Exceptional!

Celebrating our exceptional community

At The King's College, we believe in bringing out the very best in our students and guiding them to be their best version of "exceptional".  We are so proud of our students who are achieving milestones in their personal best.

Congratulations to the Cross Country winners!

The King’s College Inter-house Cross Country events were held on Wednesday, 28 April, when students from Year 2 through to Year 12 ran their distance around the College to compete for the title of Champion Boy/Girl. Spanning up to 4km, the off-road track took students through challenging terrain around the College grounds. The event burdened with a smoke warning which restricted some students from competing on the day, however, those who ran persevered through the tough conditions.

Mr Davies and his class of Year 11 Sport and Recreation students were there for every event to ensure things were running smoothly and that students were safe at all stages of the track. Students should be commended on their fantastic efforts and those who achieved the highest results for their age group were recognised at the College Assembly on Friday, 14 May.

Representing WA State Gymnastics Team

One of our Year 8 students, Evie-May Gallacher, has been selected to represent the WA State Gymnastics Team, specifically for trampolining, tumbling and double mini disciplines. She is travelling to the Gold Coast to compete in the 2021 Australian Gymnastics Championships and will hopefully come back with a medal or two!

Helping those in need

At The King’s College, our staff and students are reaching out to our local community to bring help and grace where needed. These types of acts of kindness are what our caring College is made of.

Every Wednesday during term time, Mrs Shirlynn Pereira kindly collects several huge bags of bread from her local bakery. With the help of some generous Year 12 students, she carries several huge bags into the staff room. It’s a great “go-to” for staff Wednesday lunches!  After school, tens of students line up to receive free bread to take home and share with their families or those in need.

Domestic Violence Project

Domestic violence reports have increased across the State during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This has led to increasing demand for resources and support services in the Mandurah community. There is only one crisis centre in the Peel Region, OVIS Community Services, which operates under four pillars: accommodation and transport, early intervention, post-crisis-support and community education programs. The Pat Thomas Refuge provides emergency accommodation which is often beyond capacity and has to turn away families.

To support our locals in need, Mrs Nieke Kotze's Year 12 Children Family and the Community students planned and produced gift boxes containing products to help a young woman or child seeking refuge. This was handed over to Suzanne from the OVIS team.
