Schools Clean Up Australia Day
On Friday 5 March, Aitken College participated in the Schools Clean Up Australia Day. Forty students were involved, including our Environment class leaders from Cumberland and Dunhelen, and students from Interact.
The primary objectives of this initiative were to clean up rubbish, increase awareness of the scale and impact of rubbish in the region, and change local community behaviour.
Market Stall
Earlier this term students from Year 10 Agriculture and Horticulture Studies and Year 9 Agriculture and Environment Studies ran a market stall for staff and students. The market stall consisted of produce that was grown by students as part of their sustainable farming and sustainable egg production units. The produce that was harvested and sold consisted of eggs, zucchini, silverbeet, squash, tomatoes and rosemary.
