School Sports Victoria Year 7 Summer Sports Day

The last day of Term 1 sports with the Year 7 students was on Tuesday 9 March. They competed against a number of different schools within the Hume City Council. The results from the day were:

All teams participated well and enjoyed the day out at sports. Congratulations to the Year 7 Boys Tennis team for making the NMR finals which will be played on 30 April and to the Year 7 Girls Softball and the Girls Tennis teams who had automatic entry to NMR finals on 29 April and 30 April respectively.

School Sports Victoria Year 8 Sports Day

On Thursday 4 March, students from Year 8 represented Aitken College in the School Sports Victoria Woodlands Division. They competed against a number of different schools within the Hume City Council. The results from the day were:

A good day out for the Year 8 students with the Boys Cricket team progressing through to the Northern Metropolitan Regionals on 11 October and direct entry to Northern Metropolitan Regionals on 27 April are the Girls Softball team and the Boys Tennis team. Congratulations to all teams for their participation on the day.

Woodlands Division Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday 2 March, 24 students participated in the Woodlands Division Swimming Carnival for School Sports Victoria at Broadmeadows Leisure Centre. 

 

Aitken College finished in second place. First place went to Gladstone Park Secondary College with Roxburgh Park Secondary College in third place. All students competed at their best with a lot of outstanding results. Special mention goes to the following students who were named as champions for their age level:

  • Harry D and Bryan W - 13 year Male Champions
  • Jessica Y - 14 year Female Champion
  • David N - 18 year Male Champion

On 24 March, 20 students will progress to the Northern Metropolitan Region Finals in either individual or relay events which will be held at WaterMarc in Greensborough. A big thank you to Mr Taylor, Mrs Wachter and Mrs Pocervina for your help on the day. Congratulations to all of our students on being fantastic sports, as always.

Cumberland Swim Carnival

The Year 3-6 Cumberland House swimming carnival was completed on Thursday 25 February at Splash in Craigieburn. The new indoor venue with a pool temperature of 31 degrees and split program for Years 3-4 in the morning and Years 5-6 in the afternoon helped make the carnival a success.
