From the Principal

Term 1, Week 10, Kevin Kennedy

Dear Families,

Parent teacher interviews are coming to a close this week. I am hopeful that they have been a constructive experience for all of those who had a chance to meet their child’s teacher. Teachers have spoken highly about the meetings. If you were unable to make it to an interview, teachers will be more than happy to meet with you at a mutually agreed time early next term.

Next Thursday  the Department for Education Chief Executive Rick Persse is filming a promotional video at West Beach Primary School. The video is promoting an revamped induction program for teachers new to the department.  As part of the new induction program, the Chief Executive is to record a welcome video for all new employees and would like this video to be filmed at a school site (West Beach Primary) to reflect the strategic plan of providing a world class education. It is a good opportunity to showcase the school and promote the good work of  staff, students and families. Participating classes will be receiving a consent letter today.

The last Friday of term is a Casual Clothes and Crazy Hair Day fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charity. Students are encouraged to come to school wearing cool casual clothes and a crazy hairstyle. Please bring along a gold coin donation to support a worthwhile cause..

We normally have an assembly on Friday of week 10. As this is Good Friday we have pushed the assembly back to the last Friday of term. The organising and presenting classes teachers  (Mr Faehrmann,  Monica Zinndorf  & Tina Watson)  will be making contact with  parents and carers about the assembly.

Have a happy and safe Easter. If you have queries or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Kevin Kennedy
