Who Needs a Pool Anyway?

On Tuesday, the rainy Ringwood school oval was transformed into the site of our 2021 style “who needs a pool anyway” swimming carnival.

Throughout the day all year levels were able to go down to the oval and participate in a range of activities with their friends. Despite the cold weather students got involved in a range of water based activities, favourites include the water balloon volleyball, water relays and some classic waterslide races.

At lunch the annual fashion parade commenced, displaying the creativity of the school and house pride. Congratulations to everyone on their outstanding effort throughout the day. A massive thank you to Ms B and the sporting staff for organising this fun day for us all to enjoy!

Division Swimming

The whistle squealed as the lightning fast swimmers dive into the water, agitated…

If you want to know what happens next, then continue swimming through the words!

On the 15th March, some of the amazing RSC students went to aquanation to compete in the Maroondah Division Swimming competition. A week before we held a small meet at Aquanation, where we chose our division swimming teams so we can compete in the stunning races.

Thanks to  Ms Urbano who dropped us off, we reached Aquanation around 8:50am, along with the others who met us there. Anxiousness swooped over us with a zing of thrill, we enter the building, leaving the cool atmosphere behind us. Ms B guides us to our events and reminds us to drink lots of water and go outside frequently to cope with the humidity in the pool.

We competed against Norwood, Mooroolbark and Melba, all the schools that are in our district. At one point, the convenor announced the amount of points each school was on. Our hearts were beating fast as they announced the places of each school. Fortunately, RSC was coming in 1st place. The students were jumping up with joy, but with caution because we couldn’t celebrate early.

Once the relays were completed where the Ringwood students dominated we were crowned District CHAMPIONS!!  We continue an extraordinary record of winning at District. It’s not hard to see why when you observe the amazing support and school spirit exhibited by the Ringwood students. Their willingness to have a go is what makes them so fantastic.

Finally, congratulations to the age championship winners:

20 Yr Nick Day

17 Yr Lucy Reed

16 Yr Luke Barr

15 Yr Betty Geng

13 Yr Teah Smith
