St Anne's fielding seven soccer teams in 2021

There has been a buzz of excitement among the School of Wonder children this week as they anticipate the beginning of the Shepparton Junior Soccer Association (SJSA) season which kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, April 24 at Shepparton Sports City, Brauman St.

St Anne's College is fielding seven teams for the 2021 season - three Under 8 teams; two Under 7 teams and two Under 6 teams. Thanks to the parents who have volunteered to coach and be team managers. We hope the children enjoy a fantastic soccer season. Go St Anne's!

Girls set to hit the netball court

Girls from Years 7 and 8 make up the two St Anne's College netball teams participating in the Shepparton Netball Association competition which begins tomorrow, Saturday, April 24. The girls will compete in the Under 13 and Under 15 competitions at the netball courts in Brauman St, Shepparton. Thank you to the parents who have volunteered to coach and be team managers. Good luck girls!

After-school soccer program kicks off

Twenty children from the School of Wonder (SOW) began their four-week Sporting Schools Active After-School soccer program with Adam Gatcum from Skillzone this afternoon. The program, which runs after school on Fridays at St Anne's, is funded by the Federal Government and is designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities.

There were 20 places available in the program and 60 children applied! The good news is that the college will run another four-week block after this block, so SOW children who were not selected for the first block will be able to apply for the second block of the soccer program. Again, there will only be 20 places available in the second block. Parents/carers will be notified via PAM when applications for the second block open.

Sports Association expressions of interest sought

St Anne's College is looking for community members to join St Anne's College Sports Association. The association's role is to promote sports activities, engage students and members of the college community and fundraise to provide necessary sports infrastructure. The association will also oversee sub-committees for soccer and netball. Association members would be required to meet once a term, with the occasional extra meeting if necessary.

St Anne's College Sports Association is seeking people for the following positions:

Chair

Deputy Chair

People interested in any of the above positions are asked to please email St Anne's College Community Engagement Officer Mardie Guppy at mguppy@sackialla.catholic.edu.au
