On Monday, 22 March a select group of Senior Boys from the Specialised Basketball Program took part in a one day SSWA Carnival held at Willetton Basketball Stadium. The team had an excellent carnival, representing the College proudly.
It was a strong learning experience for our players, with the boys learning how to work as a team, demonstrate excellent team spirit and show a high level of sportsmanship. The squad was made up of varying experience levels and through the strong leadership levels of Taj Hewitt and Dalton King on the court we were able to come together as a team.
The grit and grind attitude from Ashton Perkins and Jaxon Mikaere really set the attitude for the team and established our teams game style. For Kaylum Rogers these games were his first ever structured basketball game at St Norbert college and he did not look out of place. He was highly efficient on offense and was able to lock down their opposition in defence.
Xavier Moore and Thanos Snooks-Holding were both real spark plugs and could come off the bench and change the game on its head with their ability to knock down shots. Curtis Eyre was relentless on the boards rebounding any shot that came near him. Some of the main highlights from the days included Dalton King’s half court buzzer beater, Taj Hewitt’s game high 12 points and Ashton Perkins tough and one’s.
Overall it was a great carnival, congratulations to all boys involved and a massive thank you for their efforts.

On March 26 the ACC Swim Team travelled to HBF Stadium to take on seven other schools to see who could take out the “D” Division Carnival. Students were certainly excited with unfortunate cancellation in 2020. The Year 7’s and 8’s were competing in their very first ACC Swim Carnival.
After a few morning sessions together, the students were ready to give it their best. The St Norbert College students certainly did that. Every event was filled, some students stepped up to compete in older age groups by controlling all those areas St Norbert College was able to finish 2nd Overall.
An excellent achievement by all swimmers to finish 2nd Overall to Guildford Grammar who took out the ‘D’ Division 1st Place. Presentation at the end of the day demonstrated that St Norbert College has a talented young core of female students with the Junior Girls (Year 7, 8 & 9) winning their division.
The day was highlighted by a few performances throughout the day.

The College spirit was on full display from Oliver Kang. There wasn’t a student that Oliver wasn’t cheering for all day. The support he showed his peers was outstanding and is certainly someone that was incredible for St Norbert College.
The performances from Charles Empleo & Jamiela Penales in the 50m Butterfly were simply dominant, a challenging stroke looked easy with these two students competing.
Tegan Reder finishing second in her age group beating her previous No Limits Breast stroke record by 8 seconds.
Congratulations to all students involved on the day very proud to be apart of a fantastic team of Swimmers.
A special thank you goes to Miss Katelyn Isard for her preparation of the ACC Swim Team through early morning traininigs and the organisation of the event. Also to Mr Corey Houwen for his support of the team through the early morning training sessions.
On Wednesday 31 March the College held the Annual Cross-Country event. After a break in 2020 the Year 7’s and 8’s had their first look at the course. It was great day where the weather allowed the runners to perform to the best of their ability.
The day commenced with the Year 7, 8 and 9 runners commencing followed by the Year 10, 11 and 12 runners. It was fantastic to see the level of House Spirit on display with the all participants being celebrated as they commenced the last leg within the College ground.
