Seaside and city excursions
The General and ATAR Visual Art & Design students attended the annual excursion to Perth Arts Festival events and Sculptures by the Sea (Cottesloe). It was a very busy day, commuting between the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA), the Art Gallery of WA (AGWA), Cottesloe and Curtin Gallery at Curtin University.
Visual Art students were asked to critique a range of artworks from conceptual, material, process and technical points of view.
Design students were asked to critique brochure design, architectural design, sustainability factors in materials used and accessibility design for people with mobility issues.
The range of works, ideas and spaces students encountered was extremely varied and everyone found something stimulating, thought provoking, funny and/or inspiring. It was a fantastic day with a lot of discussion and debate in following lessons.
