What a great start to term we have had. We have been getting to know our class and working at building our reading and writing stamina. We have written speeches for Junior School Council and Green Thumb Positions and some of us were brave enough to present the speeches to the class. Basketball, hockey and softball clinics were run and we enjoyed being able to have a go.

Read some of the pieces of writing below about this term, written by some of the students in our class.

3/4 E Term 1, 2021 by Anoosha

Hi, I'm Anoosha! In 3/4 E this term we have been doing lots of fun clinics including basketball, hockey, softball and even had the swimming carnival! This year my class is AMAZING! Everyone in the class is super nice, fun and kind. The class I'm in has a great view of the bush. My teacher is also super great, her name is Mrs Eastwood. She's super nice as well.

We have named the group of tables we sit at. My table is called Baby Yoda's Dino Nuggies. We get points for being organised and tidy. It is fun.

I think my class is the best.

My table group by Leila

I came to school and remembered that I have the best table in the whole of Anderson's Creek Primary School. It is the one and only Baby Yoda's Dino Nuggies. There are 7 of us sitting at the table. We chose the name because we all love chicken nuggets (or dino nuggets) but Chicken nuggets was a boring name so we added Baby Yoda

Basketball Clinic - by Chloe

A couple of weeks ago we had a basketball clinic in our stadium. We had two coaches from the Warrandyte basketball club come and teach us some of the basics of basketball. First we did some warm ups before going into small groups and doing some fun activities like Zig Zag and dribbling. It helped us to practise dribbling with both hands. We did lay up drills. We practised doing lay-ups to help us get the ball into the hoop. Passing practice - we paired up with someone in our group and practised bounce passing and chest passing. Finally we had a go at shooting the ball from different angles. I had a really fun time and it helped my improve some of my basketball skills.

This term in maths we  are focusing on measurement and place value. We got challenged by Mr Barnes with some fractions.
