Sport Term 2

Softball – Both our Intermediate Girls’ and Year 8 Girls’ teams made it through to the NMR round of softball. Both teams played their games early in Term 2. They all played some great softball on the day but unfortunately did not progress on to the next round.

Tennis – The Intermediate Boys’ Tennis made it through to the NMR round in tennis and were committed enough to play on the School’s Curriculum Day. They played some fantastic tennis on the day beating Coburg but unfortunately after some close games they lost to Viewbank and therefore, did not progress on to the next round. The Year 8 Girls’ Tennis team also made it through to the NMR round where they started the day playing against a very strong Greensborough team and unfortunately lost. They then went on to play Thornbury and managed to take two sets from them but lost overall and did not make it to the next round.

Well done to all the students who have represented the school so well in all the different events. Good luck to those who will be playing in the next few weeks. Keep up the good work!

Girls Intermediate Soccer

On Thursday, 29th April, the Intermediate Girls’ Soccer Team went to Doreen to play against two teams fighting for a place in the Regional finals. We played against Hazel Glen and Mill Park Secondary College. Our first game was against Hazel Glen which ended in a draw 2-2. Our second game was against Mill Park with a win of 3-2 placing us into the next round. We had so much fun, not only playing soccer but also having fun as a team and working as one. We had such a positive vibe which came from not only the players on the field but also the players that were on the bench. We would like to thank all the girls for participating and making a huge effort and we would also like the thank Ms. Privitelli as she is an amazing coach for our team.

Gridball

We really enjoyed playing Gridball because it is an exciting and creative game that also involves competitiveness. It is also great because it involves 6 people and not many miss out. It is a mix between down ball and volleyball. We have never experienced a game like this before. There were two ways of playing, Pro and Social Gridball, we chose to play Social. We also had a great teacher Richard, who explained how to play the game very clearly.

Year 8 vs Teachers Dodgeball

The dodge ball game was a very interesting game to both participate in and watch. Year 8’s played against the teachers as well as the principal. Even though some of the students were sure they were going to win, the teachers came out and demolished class after class. The teachers were very strong, unleashing their true potential. It was a nerve racking scene. The students did their best but the teachers were outstanding even with the handy cap of a limited number of teammates, they pulled through against the horde of students. The victors of this match were the teachers…this time round!
