Macedonian Class                                     Cooking Orthodox Easter Traditional Cuisine

Learning language and cooking traditional food is fun, important and gives us a sense of community. Many traditions exist to enable people to meet and create a small or large community. Today some of Year 9 students had an opportunity to participate in traditional cooking activities. They demonstrated excellent skills in making Kozinjak (Easter sweet bread) and dying eggs, following the old Macedonian recipe that was used, probably by their great grandmothers.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF YOU WHO CELEBRATE ORTHODOX EASTER, THE MAIN RELIGIOUS HOLIDAY IN EASTERN EUROPE.

Italian Assistant

My name is Sergio and I am your Italian Language Assistant for this year. I have been living in Melbourne for 2.5 years during which time I have been working as a private language tutor. I am glad to have the opportunity to work in an Australian public school as this will give me the chance to improve my English, which is my second language.

I look forward to meeting you all and would like to thank the Epping Secondary College staff for their warm welcome.

Ciao a tutti!

Sergio
