Raising children, while rewarding, can be tremendously challenging. This week I would like to shine a light on the importance of male role models in the lives of children.

Research tells us that fathering can influence a number of positive outcomes including improved child development, improved school results, reduced substance abuse, reduced crime and reduced suicide and self harm.

We know that in some families there is no father present due to personal and circumstances that are sometimes unforeseen. The Fathering Project is an initiative aimed to improve child development outcomes by inspiring and equipping fathers and father figures (eg uncles, friends of the family etc), to effectively engage with their children.  Each week I will be posting some valuable tips for fathers or father figures that may help you on this journey. Please click on the link to follow this great advice.

Please remember fathers and father figures are so important in the life of a child and the positive effect you can have will last a lifetime.

HARMONY DAY

Harmony Day will be celebrated on Friday March 19. Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging  for everyone.

We will celebrate the day starting with a visit from Kaboom who will lead us in some super fun team activities. We will follow this with some in class activities around the theme of harmony and finish the day with an assembly celebrating our vast cultural diversity.

We would love your child to dress in their National Costume for this event. As the assembly will be at the end of the day your child may choose to wear their sports uniform to school and change into their National Dress after lunch if necessary.

Don't forget about donating an Easter Egg for the Raffle! They are due on Harmony Day.
