"Lent is a time for believing, for welcoming God into our lives and allowing Him to ‘make his dwelling’ among us", the Pope writes in his Lenten message for 2021

Fourth Week of Lent

Last Sunday was called "Laetare Sunday" in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite since its mood and theme is one of hope and rejoicing that Easter is near. During the season of Lent, we try to remember God’s great mercy and the salvation that we have received through Jesus. We do not fear confessing our sins, knowing that God forgives us, and so, during Lent, we seek out opportunities to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

This is opportune especially considering that we have several students preparing for their First Reconciliation. In a manner of recontextualisation at our school, we are witness to hope and rejoicing that is evident in the way we promote our students' gifts and talents. This is particularly apparent in our school leaders.

Mini Vinnies

The Senior Social Justice Leadership Team - our Mini Vinnies, participated in their commissioning celebration last week, conducted by Father Joseph. These young people have an important role to play in our school community promoting many events and social justice issues.

The Mini Vinnies acknowledged their important role at St Therese and this is the pledge they recited:

'As a member of the St Vincent de Paul Society Mini Vinnies I commit to making a difference in my world, to loving and respecting myself, to reaching out to others in my school and community through friendship and doing good works.'

Congratulations to Oswin, Sera, Salvie, Tiana Jae, Paulette & Brooke.
