HOUSE SWIMMING SPORTS

Last Friday saw our House Swimming Sports take place in ideal conditions at the Korumburra Pool.  Many thanks to Meghan Smith from St Joseph’s who organised the day which ran very smoothly and efficiently. We had a good parent response and I would particularly like to express our appreciation to those who were able to help throughout the day.  A special mention to Marlene and Tanya Dyke for their assistance. Marlene was a big contributor to the school whilst her children were in attendance and she continues to offer her support. Many thanks.

Students competed well and their behaviour and sportsmanship was most pleasing. Children who performed well in the House Sports will now compete at the District Level which we hope goes ahead this Friday ( 19th ).  Information will be sent home this week to those parents whose child is in the team.

DISTRICT SWIMMING

Last Friday saw the District Swimming Sports held at the Korumburra Pool in very warm conditions. The day ran smoothly thanks to the efforts of Joel Cahir from Leongatha Primary School who was the organiser.  The school was very proud of the efforts of our students. Their resilience and encouragement was most pleasing and all worked really hard to achieve their best. It was a very even team and we placed in twenty eight of fifty two events.

Students who placed in the first three in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly together with the freestyle relay teams will now move onto the Division Stage of competition to be held this Friday at Korumburra. Children in the under nine age group do not go on.

Everyone is disappointed that parents are unable to attend and this will also be the case this coming Friday. Those children’s parents who have qualified will be notified regarding the arrangements and details.
