ART

Over the last 9 weeks we have been very busy in art.

The year 8's have been looking into colour theory and have started practical work using acrylic paint to produce landscape paintings. The year 8's are very proud of their work thus far and what they are producing.

The year 9's are also looking into landscapes using charcoal and lead pencil. The year 9's are looking into techniques such as stipple, hatch, cross hatch, stumbling, horizon line and blending. The yr 9's have done well experimenting with these techniques and submitting a final landscape of their choosing. The picture displayed is of the year 9 landscape artworks.

The year 10's were introduced to pop art and had to create a collage inspired by the layering, repetition and colours of pop art. The year 10's were challenged with visually representing a social issue or lifestyle choice. The year 10’s grasped this topic well and have produced some great collages.

I can’t wait to see what the students continue to produce in the year ahead.
