Student & Staff Activities
Thank you, Thank you!
Our Students have been busy with so many activites this term. It has been a very exciting start to the year and we appreciate all the hard work that our teaching staff put in to organise these oppurtunities. Thank you for taking the time to plan or attend student activities.
Ride 2 School
On Friday, March 19, some sixty students and staff cycled to school for a free breakfast. In the spirit of Ride2School Day, the Environment Group provided a free pancake breakfast as a sign of appreciation for the efforts of those choosing an alternative form of transport (other than motor vehicles).
Now something of a tradition at Cheltenham Secondary, the breakfast extended into recess and lunchtime because we had prepared soooo…. much pancake batter, to the accompaniment of some live music! We catered for this huge crowd using NO DISPOSABLE Items at all...We had china plates, metal cutlery and just did an energetic hand-wash up (no dishwasher!) – thus proving it’s easy to cater for a crowd without needing default to disposable plastics and energy! This year’s annual event attracted visitors including previous students (who had been involved with the Environment Group during their years at Chelt.Sec.) and Michelle Tripp (from “Kids Teaching Kids”), with catering support from Ms. Kathy Anderson, Ms. Kath Balson and Mr. Aaron Milburn, and the Environment Group themselves. A very big ‘thank you’ to all who participated!
