"On Friday the 21st of September, we held for the second year running, the WHSC Fun Run. Each participant received a t-shirt, wristband and tattoo. 150 students from Years 7-10 participated in the run, completing a range of activities from a rope maze, camo crawl, star jumps, egg and spoon races and so much more. All while they were being covered in a rainbow of colour. The event ran smoothly thanks to great cooperation between leaders, teachers/staff and participants. After completion of the course, each participant received a sausage in bread, satisfying their hunger needs. From all feedback everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and are looking forward to doing it again next year. You’ll be able to see this joy on all their faces in the below photos. We want to say a huge thank you to all the staff who helped with either running an activity, administration or the sausage sizzle, as well as a massive thank you to Miss McMahon, who was the rock of the event- ensuring all deadlines were met and that everything was thoroughly planned, to ensure the day ran as smoothly as it did."

Student Voice Workshop

"On Friday the 31st August, four student voice representatives and Ms McMahon attended the Victorian Student Voice Representative (VicSRC) workshop at Scoresby Secondary College. Throughout the day we were given the opportunity to collaborate with other schools, identify strengths and weaknesses within our school and then create an action plan to address one of the key issues. When creating our action plan we needed to come up with questions to ask our student body and had to take into account who, why, how, when, where and what we’re going to ask. From there we were given a flow chart to help us understand how we should listen to the response, think about how to appropriately attack the issue, how we would improve the issue and highlighting the importance of reflecting afterwards. The skills we learnt throughout the day, such as understanding that each leader has their own strengths and own leadership style, which will enable us to improve our student voice team heading into the future."
