NMR Athletics Carnival

The Northern Metropolitan Athletics Carnival was held yesterday. We were lucky enough to get through the day with minimal rain.  11 Plenty Parklands students attended the day to represent the Bundoora district. All of our students worked to their absolute best level. Some achieving their personal bests. Jack from 6-7 made it through to the final level which is STATE level in both the 100m event and hurdles. The State event will be held next Thursday 24th October.

Once again we are very proud of the students who represented both our school and division. Each student turned up on time to their event and worked to their best level, continually showing our school values by supporting each other and encouraging their competitors.

Congratulations to all of the students who competed yesterday making the Plenty Parklands community proud!

Thanks also to Mr Broadbent who left his new born baby in the care of his mum so that he could attend to support our hurdlers!! Thanks Mr Broadbent and congratulations on the birth of your son.

Congratulations Elias!

Elias from year 4 attended a ‘Rookie Me’ scholarship day for a chance to win a scholarship with the 2020 Rookie Me program during the school holidays.

Rookie Me is an AFL affiliated program that identifies talented kids with AFL like combine testing. The program only offers two Gold fully paid scholarships every year from approx. 80 kids.

Elias achieved amazing results during his testing achieving the fastest in the 5m, 10m and 20m sprints AND the fastest in the agility testing!! He was also the best afield in the match. What an amazing effort put in by Elias, who has excellent speed and stamina. Needless to say Elias was awarded with a Gold scholarship with the 2020 Rookie Me program.

Congratulations to Elias and his family. We are very proud of Elias’ outstanding sporting achievement!
