Principal's Message

Welcome back everyone. Last week, 3 way conferences, this week, year 4 camp and next week year 3 camp; never a dull moment at PPPS.

We have received such lovely feedback about the concert last term; thank you. On each night and in the days that followed, there was a real buzz of excitement and pride. Many parents commented on how much they enjoyed themselves, how proud they were of their children and how appreciative they were of the commitment and hard work of the staff. Some parents spoke to us, while others wrote to us to express their congratulations. One parent sent us the following email …

“Just a quick note to say congratulations on last term’s concert! The staff team did an incredible job pulling the night together. I can appreciate the time and effort that must have gone in to preparing the students for the show and understand the amount of time that’s been taken from everyone’s personal lives in supporting the two evenings.

It was so lovely to see all those beautiful faces up on stage and the message of the concert itself was heart warming.

I know from our perspective, it was a wonderful experience for my son and he was thrilled to be involved.”

Again, earlier this week, a parent took the time to say how much she enjoyed the concert, stressing that she was talking about every performance, whether she knew the children or not.

Thank you for supporting the efforts of the children by providing such supportive audiences.

Please read the Home Group Placement process in the newsletter today. It clearly explains the way classes are constructed and the process we use to try and compose the best possible combinations. The process also details how to record specific points you may wish teachers to consider in the placement of your child. Please respect the process and not list requests, such as students you would like your child to be with next year, that are not part of the process.

Recently we received a generous donation to our music program; a left handed guitar and stand. Ms Gardner commented that it will be a great asset to our left handed students as they try out the instrument in our program, A few students have asked her how to play and because of the kindness of Cooper’s family 6-7, she is now able to offer them the chance to play more comfortably. They have some pretty good company in terms of left handed guitarists...Mark Knopfler, Gregg Allman, Paul McCartney, Noel Gallagher to name a few!

The Arts and the camping program; fabulous opportunities for our kids. Thank you to the families who support their children to, “give things a go” and to the staff who make these opportunities a reality.
