Assistant Principal's Report

Mobile Phone Policy

Thank you to all families for supporting the new DET Mobile Phone Policy. This has been well supported by the students who are noticeably more engaged in class with fewer distractions. It has also been wonderful to see more students playing ball games at recess and lunchtime and talking to one another more, rather than just sitting in groups staring at devices. We are hoping this policy will contribute to improved student outcomes in 2020.

Year 7 & 8 Camps

Year 7 and 8 camps are scheduled for March 23rd-25th. As there are two full year levels out of the school at once this is the only program that we will be offering for Year 7 & 8 during these 3 days.

  • Consent and payment for Year 7 Camp is due Feb 18th.
  • Consent and payment for Year 8 Camp is due March 2nd.

If you are unable to pay by these dates or you would like to apply the Camps, Sports Excursion Fund (CSEF) to these camps please contact the main office.

Year 7 Induction & BBQ

Our annual Year 7 Induction and BBQ is scheduled for Thursday 20th February at 6:00 pm. All Year 7 families are strongly encouraged to attend and support students' induction into their Houses. The induction will take place in the Hall, followed by an informal BBQ at the front of the school. This is a great way to meet the staff in an informal setting. We hope to see all Year 7 families there!

Academies

The annual Academy sign up day is scheduled for Friday 7th February during the first lunch break in the Hall. Anyone that missed this sign up will need to catch up directly with the relevant Academy teacher to ensure their name is on the list to join an academy. Students that sign up to an academy will then be put on an event on Compass that will require consent and payment.

Warrnambool College News

There are several ways to keep up with what is happening at Warrnambool College. You can follow us on facebook and Instagram, and via this School newsletter - which will be coming out monthly in 2020. However, the most important way to keep up-to-date is by accessing Compass. Here you will be able to access the newsfeed that is tailored to each student’s House and year level, there is also access to individual student feedback on learning tasks and the student chronicle. You can also consent and pay for any camps and or excursions on time so that your child does not miss out. If you need support accessing the Compass app or website please contact the General Office.
