Old Scholar's at The Friends' School

Our Alumni go on to many amazing careers all over the world. Some, however, choose to make a difference by staying right here at the school as teachers, administrators and aids. Currently, we have over 20 staff members who are also Old Scholars. Some names you may recognise instantly, such as Jenny Wood (nee Hawkins), who attended Friends' as a student from 1959 to 1963. Jenny then came back to teach at the School after working in the Education Department for four years.

"I was offered a position in the Junior School by Bill Oats who was my Headmaster when I was at school. So my interview consisted mainly of a welcome back greeting. I have loved teaching here for nearly 49 years and of course, I have seen many changes in that time. I have coached many sports teams in that time especially netball. We started an old scholars club in 1975 which is still competing at the Creek Road Netball Centre. I have also loved entering many students in the local Eisteddfods where they participate in the Drama sections."
