New Staff

Introducing.......... Year 7 Homeroom and Digital Technologies Teacher Ms Carolyn Gekas

Having previously worked at Mazenod College as a pre-service teacher and later in a casual capacity, I am very excited to be returning to the college in 2022. This year I will be teaching Information Technology, STEM Robotics and VET IT. Prior to working at Mazenod College, I was employed at Balwyn High School as an IT and Maths teacher.

I worked in the corporate sector for more than 15 years as an IT Business Analyst, specialising in Business Process Management. I loved my work and enjoyed working on a range of exciting IT projects across multiple sectors and organisations, however, seeking a more rewarding career led me to pursue teaching. I completed a Master in Secondary Teaching at Monash University and haven’t looked back since graduating. I love being able to bring practical knowledge from my work experience into the classroom and getting to know all my students.

Outside of school, you’ll find me at the gym or spending time with family and friends. My favourite overseas holiday destination is Greece. Locally, I enjoy spending time on the Mornington Peninsula and Noosa is my favourite holiday destination in Australia.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone who makes up the wonderful Mazenod community this year!
