OSHC at Yarrabah School

TheirCare manage our out of school hours care

It has been a great start to the school year in the OSHC program. We welcomed eleven new children, some were also new to Yarrabah, having enrolled in Prep for 2022.

Playground equipment has been newly installed and the trampoline moved to underneath the shade sail. Children are enjoying the use of both each afternoon. Five chickens joined our two resident chickens to make a total of 7. All are getting lots of care and attention.

In Week 2, Urban Upcycle held an incursion that provided children with a fun and educational repurposed crafting experience. In Week 6 (March 8th), Eva Dell-Neel will be hosting the first of 8 art sessions for the year. Other activities we are planning to hold include cooking and gymnastics sessions.

Shade sails will be installed during Term 2 in the play space between the OSHC vegetable garden and the Primary School building. This will extend on the undercover spaces already available each afternoon.

Places are still available for families wanting to book their child in. It can also be a great way for children to familiarise themselves with staff and spaces, particularly for those attending during the upcoming school holidays.

Please feel free to reach out with any suggestions you might have for the program. Feedback is always welcomed, as are suggestions for excursion destinations/venues, and incursion providers, or community organisations wanting to form a partnership with the service.
